Kate has practiced extensively in civil litigation and has appeared as counsel in the BC Supreme and Provincial Courts, as well as various superior courts in Washington State. In her BC practice, Kate handles complex personal injury files dealing with brain injuries, mental health, and various physical issues. She has successfully argued many procedural issues such as whether a jury is the appropriate mode of trial. As plaintiff’s counsel, Kate works with her team to secure settlement amounts for various clients upwards of $1 million. To date, she has assisted with two jury trials in Washington State and a bench trial in BC. Kate has also served as counsel for petitioners on committeeship matters, helping families take over affairs for severely injured individuals.

Prior to moving to BC, Kate worked as an insurance defense attorney in Washington State on personal injury matters and property disputes and represented insured individuals and small businesses. Since moving to BC, she has also assisted BC residents who were injured in Washington state in negotiating with insurance companies and bringing claims to the Washington courts. Kate’s ability to practice in both BC and Washington gives her the unique ability to provide valuable advice to clients in dealing with cross-border matters as well as litigate in either jurisdiction.

Kate is a Seattle-area native who graduated magna cum laude from the University of Washington Tacoma and then went on to attend the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle. While in law school, Kate served as the Editor-in-Chief for the Washington Journal of Environmental Law and Policy. Kate also worked at a small law firm while in law school where she began her career as an attorney after passing the Washington State Bar Exam in 2019. After completing her NCA exams and articling, Kate was called to the BC Bar in 2022.

Kate enjoys travelling, cooking (especially Italian!), and working out in her free time. Kate lives with her husband and two cats. Kate is also fluent in Spanish.
